James Ward Brown, Ruel V. Churchill, Complex Variables and Applications, 9th Edition, McGraw-Hill Education, 2014
Material:
We will cover most of Chapters 1-7 of the textbook. The course is devoted to rigorous treatment of basic complex analysis: analytic functions, Cauchy's theorem, Cauchy's integral formula and its consequences, residue calculus, harmonic functions.

Exam Schedule:
Midterm: Monday, February 10, 12:00-12:50 pm in ALP 1600
Final Exam: Monday, March 16, 1:30 - 3:30 pm in ALP 1600
No makeups are allowed for the midterm and for the final examination. The final and midterm exams must be taken in order to receive a passing grade.
Grading Policy:
Homework - 25%
Midterm - 35%
Final Exam - 40%
Failure of turning in three or more homework assignments leads to a failing grade in this course.
Homework:
There will be eight homework assignments. Homework will be assigned on Tuesday and will be collected every Tuesday in the discussion section the week after. Homework must be stapled and clearly labelled with your name and ID. Graded homework will be returned to you in discussion section the following Tuesday.
No late homework will be accepted under any circumstances.
